Strengthening the Local Economy, SEI Inaugurates Solar Ice Maker & Cold Storage in Sadai Village
Bandung (6/12/2024), In order to commemorate its 17th anniversary, PT Surya Energi Indotama (SEI) has once again demonstrated its commitment to building the country. This time, the company engaged in renewable energy inaugurated a Solar Ice Maker & Cold Storage in Sadai Village, South Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands which was carried out in a hybrid manner by SEI's President Director, I Made Sandika Dwiantara.
The Ice Maker, which has a production capacity of up to 20 tons of ice per day, was built to improve the welfare of fishermen in Sadai Village. With this facility, fishermen can store their sea catch in a fresher and more durable condition. This will certainly have a positive impact on the selling price of fish and increase fishermen's income.
"The construction of the Solar Ice Maker & Cold Storage is a real manifestation of SEI's commitment to contributing to local economic development, especially in the fisheries sector," said PT SEI's Marketing and Business Director, Ridwan Kurnia. "We hope that with this facility, the added value of fishermen's catches can increase and ultimately improve the welfare of the community," he added.
The inauguration of the Solar Ice Maker & Cold Storage is also in line with SEI's goal to continue to innovate in developing products and services that have a positive impact on the community. The use of modern technology in the management of Ice Makers & Cold Storage is expected to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of ice production.
"We believe that innovation is the key to building a better country. By continuing to innovate, we hope to make a greater contribution to society and the environment," said I Made Sandika Dwiantara, President and Director of SEI.
The inauguration of the Solar Ice Maker & Cold Storage in Sadai Village was enthusiastically welcomed by the fishermen. Ahmad Sidik, one of the local fishermen, said, "In Sadai Village, currently the ice factory is limited and is very much needed because if there is none, it is the same as wasting energy. Later if it rots, the price will drop. With this cold storage, it is hoped that the fishermen's catch can be kept fresh and have a higher selling value".
In addition, SEI's Solar Ice Maker & Cold Storage is supported by a 7.5 kWp On Grid Solar Power Plant and a 5 kWp inverter. With this combination, it is expected to reduce production costs so that the selling price of ice can be more competitive and of course, have a positive impact on the selling price of fish and increase fishermen's income.
The presence of Solar Ice Maker & Cold Storage in Sadai Village is expected to be an example for other villages in Indonesia in developing the potential of the fisheries sector. SEI is committed to continuing to support government programs to improve community welfare.
