Easy-Easy-Difficult, Here Are Tips for Maintaining Rooftop Solar Power Plants That You Need to Know
Who here has installed a rooftop solar panel at home? For those of you who have installed it, don't forget to maintain the solar panels so that their performance remains optimal. How to do it?
Maintaining a rooftop solar panel can be said to be easy and difficult. Basically, the solar panel system is stationary or does not move. So, not many types of maintenance are needed. This also makes the potential for physical damage relatively minimal. However, solar panels still require regular maintenance, either weekly, monthly, or semi-annually. To maintain solar panels, you can do the following tips.
The key is to make sure the solar panels stay clean. The surface area of the solar panel is the most important part. Make sure the surface area of the solar panel is not covered by dust, bird droppings, or dry leaves that have the potential to block exposure to sunlight.
Clean with running water
Basically, tilted solar panels can clean themselves when exposed to heavy rain. However, if the dust has started to thicken, especially due to a long dry season, you can clean it with running water and a soft cloth. The water used should also be clean water. If you want to use soap, mix the soap solution with water first. Avoid pouring soap directly onto the panel because the chemicals contained are feared to leave marks and be difficult to clean.
Use Gentle Cleaning Tools
Using a hard brush is not good for solar panels. Therefore, use a cleaning tool such as a mop or chamois to avoid scratches on the glass layer that can affect the effectiveness of sunlight absorption.
Do Cleaning in the Morning or Evening
During the day, the PLTS system is working optimally. If the weather is hot, the solar panels are in a hot condition. When cleaning is done during the day, this can interfere with the effectiveness of electricity production and can also make you hot. Do the cleaning in the morning or evening when the weather is relatively cooler.
Pay Attention to Other Components
Not only the surface of the panel, other PLTS components also need your attention. Make sure the cables near the panel remain in their proper place. Do not cover the solar panels either. Also, clean the PLTS inverter from dust to avoid dirt that can reduce the performance of the PLTS system.
Conduct Periodic Solar Power Plant Monitoring
Installing a monitoring system for your rooftop solar power plant can make it easier for you to find out the performance of your solar power plant. By knowing the track record such as the energy produced for each certain period of time, you can analyze if there is a decrease in performance or other problems.
This monitoring or checking can be done by yourself with a previously created checklist form. If you find it difficult, you can also ask for professional services to perform maintenance on the rooftop solar power plant in your home. SEI through its LenSOLAR service product provides maintenance services for rooftop solar power plants in homes with the best service and affordable prices. For more information regarding solar power plant maintenance services, contact the contact person listed on the website www.suryaenergi.com ! Now, you know how to maintain your rooftop solar power plant in your home, right? Still easy, right? Let's use rooftop solar power plants and continue to support the use of new renewable energy around us!
