Strengthening ESG Commitment: SEI Collects 66 Kg of Inorganic Waste Through the Waste Sorting Program
Bandung (06/23/2026) – To strengthen Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and commemorate the 2026 Environment Day themed “Saatnya Bekerja untuk Iklim" SEI has implemented a Waste Sorting Program as a concrete manifestation of the company's commitment to environmental preservation and creating a sustainable work culture.
This program is a collaboration between SEI and the Bandung City Environmental Office (DLH) for managing inorganic waste generated from both the workplace and employees' households. The sorted waste is distributed to a Waste Bank managed by DLH Bandung to be processed into products with utility and economic value.
Through this program, all SEI employees are encouraged to start sorting waste at the source. The types of waste that can be turned in include plastic bottles, cardboard, paper, Tetra Pak packaging, glass bottles, used cooking oil, and various other recyclable inorganic materials.
The Waste Sorting Program is a simple step that is expected to have a tangible impact on the environment. Amid rising waste volumes and various challenges in urban waste management, the active participation of every individual is crucial to creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
As a company in the new and renewable energy sector, SEI believes that a commitment to sustainability is realized not only through clean energy solutions but also through an environmentally conscious work culture. Therefore, this program is part of the company's ESG implementation, specifically the environmental aspect, through waste reduction, increased recycling practices, and more responsible resource management.

The program is conducted routinely every Friday. Employees can deposit sorted household inorganic waste to be collected and distributed through a mechanism agreed upon with the Bandung City Environmental Office.
SEI’s General Manager of Human Resources & Business Support, Dea Puspitasari, expressed her hope that this program would serve as the first step in fostering a culture of environmental awareness within the company.
“Through this program, we hope that all SEI employees, in particular, can play an active role in protecting the environment through simple actions, such as getting into the habit of sorting waste, thereby making a positive impact on environmental sustainability,” said Dea.
As an initial step in implementing this program, SEI successfully collected 66 kilograms of sorted inorganic waste from employees and the company. The collected waste consisted of plastic, plastic bottles, paper, cardboard, and other inorganic materials that still have value for recycling. The collected materials were then handed over to the Waste Bank managed by the Bandung City Environmental Agency as part of efforts to support waste reduction and promote recycling practices in the community.

This achievement reflects the enthusiasm and strong commitment of SEI’s employees toward the environment. By sorting waste at the source, SEI believes that every individual can be part of the solution for environmental conservation and sustainable climate action.
In line with the theme of World Environment Day 2026, “Saatnya Bekerja untuk Iklim" the Waste Sorting Program is a concrete initiative by SEI to support environmental conservation, starting with everyday habits. Through collaboration and active participation, SEI is committed to continuously taking sustainable steps for the benefit of the environment, the community, and future generations

SEI and ITB Establish Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Energy Innovation
Bandung (25/05/2026) — A delegation of lecturers and research teams from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) alongside SEI, held a Kick Off Meeting at the SEI office premises to initiate a research collaboration, technological development, and exploration of strategic partnership programs in the industrial and energy sectors.
This collaboration focuses on two major topics. The first is the development of technology tailored for natural disaster response, introduced under the project title “SiagaGrid.” This system is designed as an emergency power solution incorporating a smart delivery concept, meaning a high capacity yet lightweight power unit that can be mobilized manually by human effort. This design aims to overcome accessibility constraints in post-disaster areas.
The subsequent concept highlights circular design, which prioritizes the sustainable utilization of resources through use and recycling principles. This approach effectively reduces waste without compromising the product’s function or performance.

In addition to SmartGrid solutions, the discussion also centered on Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV), a technology where solar panels are integrated directly into building structures such as roofs, facades, or glass windows, as well as Energy Management Systems (EMS), which monitor, manage, and optimize energy utilization with greater efficiency. Both technologies serve as key focus areas in this synergy between academia and the industry.
This collaboration between academia and the industrial sector represents a highly strategic step for both entities. By merging academic research and scientific expertise with industrial practical experience, this partnership is expected to yield applicable solutions that deliver a substantial impact on the development of the energy sector, particularly new and renewable energy in Indonesia.
